1874. No Binding. AL; note written in Italian, dated 3 November 1874, signed "G. Garibaldi". The Italian patriot (1807-1882) played a major role in unifying the Italian states. After a lifetime of campaigns and revolutionary and military action he retired to the island of Caprera, which English friends had purchased for him, and where he died. The note, from Caprera, is a thank you note to Mrs Gilliam. Good condition, 4 folds. Includes a separate translated facsimile letter from Garibaldi to a Mrs Godfrey, dated 20 January, 1862. Good.
